The 5797 is a 37/40mm round that launches a pyrotechnic submunition that is designed to deliver smoke out to 137 meters. When launched, the submunition will discharge agent for approximately 20-30 seconds, on average, providing a wide area of coverage for obscurant or signaling purposes.
